Q: What is Backing?

A: Your message will not be embroidered directly on the necktie, it is embroidered on cotton fabric, or backing, and applied permanently to the back lower portion of the necktie without affecting the appearance from the front. We suggest you choose the same color backing as the prominent color of your necktie.
